John & Janice Doan
Meet John & Janice Doan
John is a lifelong Panhandle resident and proud member of Palo Duro Real Estate in Canyon. A 1988 graduate of Tulia High School, he earned his degree from West Texas A&M University in 1994. John began his teaching and coaching career in Dalhart, where he coached for five years. After returning to West Texas A&M in 1996 for an additional certification, he met his wife, Janice. They were married in 1997 and spent two years together in Dalhart before returning to Canyon.
John spent 22 years in Canyon ISD as a teacher and coach, serving as head baseball coach and assistant football coach. He was part of Canyon’s baseball program that reached the State Tournament in 2003 as an assistant coach and again in 2024 as head coach. Today, he remains active on the field as a football official and baseball umpire while also working alongside Janice in real estate. His years in education and coaching developed the leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills that help clients navigate the buying and selling process with confidence.
Janice grew up in Canyon and graduated from Canyon High School in 1991 and West Texas A&M University in 1996. After 29 years in education — in both the classroom and library — she is retiring and beginning an exciting new chapter in real estate. Helping people has always been at the heart of what she does, and she loves exploring homes and imagining the possibilities each one holds.
John and Janice have three daughters — Avery, Erin, and Alex — and a grandson, Levi. Over the years, they have personally bought, sold, and remodeled several homes, giving them firsthand experience in the real estate process and a deep appreciation for what it means to find the right place to call home.
Rooted in the Panhandle and passionate about serving their community, John and Janice are excited to help others find their way home. ??
