4th of July in Canyon, TX — Celebrate with Us All Weekend Long

There’s no better place to spend Independence Day than right here in Canyon, Texas. From live music and fireworks to parades and pancakes, our community knows how to throw a hometown celebration that’s big on tradition and full of heart. Whether you’re a Canyon native or visiting for the holiday, we hope you’ll join us for a full weekend of fun.

Thursday, July 3 — Concert Night

Kick off the holiday with a night of live music at The Lumberyard on the First United Bank Stage. Headlining the evening is southern rock favorite 49 Winchester, with special guest The Droptines.

  • Doors open at 5:30 PM
  • Music starts at 7:30 PM
  • Tickets are required — grab yours before they’re gone!

Friday, July 4 — Independence Day Celebration

Proudly sponsored by the Canyon Chamber of Commerce, this celebration is one of the largest small-town Independence Day events in Texas. Here’s what to expect throughout the day:

Lions Club Pancake Breakfast
Start your morning with a hot breakfast from the Canyon Lions Club at the Cole Community Center.
7:00 AM – 10:00 AM | Just $5 at the door

Firecracker Mile
This one-mile dash down 4th Avenue is a high-energy tradition hosted by Canyon Cross Country.
9:30 AM | All ages welcome — come run or cheer!

Fair on the Square
Shop local vendors, explore artisan booths, enjoy great food, and bring the whole family for fun downtown.
9:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Historic Downtown Square

4th of July Parade
A Canyon favorite! Watch as floats, bands, and classic cars roll down 4th Avenue in one of the most beloved events of the year.
10:00 AM | Downtown Canyon
Be on the lookout for the Palo Duro Real Estate Jeep and wave to your favorite local agents!

Fireworks at Paul Lindsey Park
Close out the day with a fireworks show that lights up the sky, sponsored by Canyon EDC. Bring a blanket, a lawn chair, and your favorite people.
